OCR capabilities

Convert different types of documents into editable and searchable data or use OCR for screen vision

Let’s say that you’ve got a paper document, like a printed Invoice or a PDF document from a customer sent to you by email. How could this information be edited or searched? Traditional scanners that convert such documents to, say Microsoft Word, are not quite enough and the results are, more often than not, disappointing. The scanner simply creates an image or a snapshot of the document and is nothing more than a collection of black and white or color dots. Therefore, to work efficiently and be able to read and extract from scanned or non-editable documents, camera images or image-only PDFs, then an OCR software is needed. The OCR software will single out letters on the image, which will form words, which will consequently form sentences and readable data. This way, you are free to read, extract and manage the data contained within all sorts of documents.

Support for Two OCR Engines

WinAutomation gives you the ability to perform any OCR related action through any of the 3 supported OCR engines, including Google Tesseract, Microsoft MODI or ABBYY. With OCR deal with the most challenging workflows that would typically require human intervention. You can wait for a text to be present on the screen, even if this text is part of an image. With OCR scanning, you can decide what needs to happen when certain keywords or elements are present, such as move the mouse to a text found on the screen or send clicks.
