Hi,

I’m submitting articles to article directories. For some directories I need to select a category for the article before it can be submitted.

Is there a way to automatically select a category from a drop down menu using a keyword as input?

Thanks for your time and help.

Re: Select Category in Drop Down Menu

Hello winjaw,

What method are you using to submit the articles to the directories?

You could try sending a mouse click to locate the drop down menu and after that send a keystroke character (or more than one) to get to the category you are interested in.

For example, if your category is Technology, then send a "T" and count how many items down technology is located on the list.

But it all depends on the site's structure actually to allow you do what it is you want to do.

Re: Select Category in Drop Down Menu

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Foremost I'm submitting to EzineArticles. Sending the first letter and then count the rows down won't work since I'm submitting articles to different categories most of the time.

But I think I found a solution that will do just fine:

I usually store the article that I want to submit in a text file in a specific folder. The file also contains keywords and some other information. I will now in a semi-manual way add the EzineArticle category to the file.

The submission job will select the category drop down and send the first 3 letters in the category name. (Sending the whole category name doesn’t work for some reason, the cursor jumps to the wrog category in many cases). This will give me the right category in approximately 90% of my submissions.

Thanks again.
