If I am working on a long job script, is it possible to print it out so that I can discuss it with other people in a meeting when a computer is not available?

Thanks!

Hi.. I'm attaching a job I made to get something like a documentation for any job. Just follow the instructions and you'll get a nice html file that you can print to make notes on :) Samantha

One of the main reasons I upgraded to 4 was because this was a 'much requested feature' that I thought was supposed to be included in version 4, however it is not. I NEED to be able to print my scripts. How can I do that in version 4? There is no my_jobs.dat file in my WinAutomation setup folder, so the query does not run in your script.

If there is not an easy way to print, I'm going to have to request a refund. Version 3 does everything I need.

The value of the %database% variable in action 3 of the sample job needs to be changed to hold the location of your jobs database.

To find out the location of your jobs database, while in the console select from the main menu Tools > Options and then navigate to the "General" tab. The field "Jobs File Location" holds the full path to your jobs database.

Thanks Dennis - that helped a lot - I couldn't figure out what the issue was there for a bit.

Hello all,

Thanks Samantha for this nice example of how to use Execute SQL statement action with connection strings, and how to query the jobs database.

As one says in french language: "tout vient à point à qui sait attendre".

It did take me some time to get it out.. however, this is an updated version of the "Print Script" script.

It has been set to use the default path of the database, so please do feel free to check it out! Have you changed the default path of the database file, please do make sure to update the script on action #3

This will create an html file on your desktop, named after the script.

To start with, it will ask you to select the folder in which the script is located, and to continue, it will display the contents of that folder, asking you to select the script you wish to print.

Once it's done, an html file will be launched, for your review, at which point you can print it do you need to.

There's also space at the end of the page to fill in any comments!

Enjoy!!!

Updated version to also include details of each action and comments (I had not noticed it did not grab those ones before!)

Works real nice when you actually decide you wish to print to pdf!! You can check out a live example of a script's documentation in (pdf format) posted here:
