Hello - has anyone had a problem with Notification not displaying while running under the console? I know they don't display during debug and I'm good with that. But when I run under the console, I don't seem them displaying in the lower right of the screen. Any ideas? Thank you!

This is an odd one, which WinAutomation version are you running? Does it always happen for all jobs, or just a specific job? Is the service running as it should? Is the Agent running in the notification tray? :) Samantha

Version 3.1.5.637

Happens for only one job that I am continually running at the moment BUT it doesn't happen all the time. When it does happen, it only happens on one machine that I am running it on (my main with Professional edition). The test machine for which we have a 30 trial seems to have no trouble with it.

The automated job itself seems to be running fine. The tray icon is available.

It's odd. I noticed this before but thought it was me but now that we have actually purchased the product and it still happens every now and then makes me wonder if it is an oddity in the job or console manager.

Regards.

Update regarding this - I noticed in this version that there is an option to show the notification or not when running an executable. I have this turned on for executables and I still do not see the notification window.

How to duplicate:

Add Notification action;

Create executable; run; shows notification window;

Turn off the option;

Create the executable; execute; action should not show.

Turn on the option again;

Create the executable; run; actdion show show <- this is not currently happening for me.

Thanks for any info.

Hi Kim, The option for notification windows is global. You can either switch it on for all or off or all. When compiling a job, you cannot have notification windows displaying. The notifications are only meant for jobs running from within the Console. Else, you can get the messages printed on a cmd window. Is this what you are talking about? :) Samantha

Samantha -

I didn't have the type of executable set for "command line window" but I can try that. That's interesting. I'm still getting used to this software. I'm going to figure out a way that I can use "Run Job" in simulation mode and "Run App" in production mode - without wholesale changes to the code. There must be a way! Cheers!
