Introducing the "Wait" group of Actions

Dec 20 2010

It is well known, that different machines work at different speeds, and come up with the same results after a process request, while the process result is the same.

When using WinAutomation to automate tasks, you should be able to determine how long you will allow for a process to run, before it fails.

This is where the "Wait" group of actions come in handy.

Update Multiple CMS Websites - Extending Job’s capabilities

Dec 17 2010
In the previous blog we created a job that would read an Excel File and use the information stored to login to the FTP server of a list of websites in order to upload the update files of a CMS site.

How about adding a few bits and pieces to make this Job provide us a with a log of the updates made so that we can keep track of our updates.

Let’s see how that could be achieved…

Update Multiple CMS Websites

Dec 8 2010

I think this Job is a must for any web designer who uses Joomla, Drupal or any other CMS (Content Management Systems) that needs to be updated every so often!

Imagine having 10 websites that you are in charge of and you need to keep them up-to-date with any latest security –and not only- patches…Even just 5 would still be too many to handle..

What do you do? Spend a week updating them all manually?

Create Folders based on Year>Month>Day for a specific period of time

May 25 2010

Imagine having to create a folder for each day of the year for any random use, that could be to save the day’s work or even to save your projects or photos per day or just to keep track of the your work you have been doing per day throughout the whole year.

Do you sit there and create folders one by one? It’ll probably take you a couple of hours to create 365 folders for each day and another 12 folders per month. And you will also have to make sure you get the right number of days for each month.. cause not all months have 30 days and depending on the year February does not always have 28 days.

May 20 2010

Have you ever came up with a CSS, XML or HTML File that is full of empty unnecessary rows and can’t be bothered to spend the time needed clearing it up? Well you no longer need to!!! You can use WinAutomation to do the boring work for you!
