      Getting started with WinAutomation...

Based on my conversation with many people curious about WinAutomation, they are a lot that aren't quite sure what tasks to automate. And how automation can apply to them.

First off, let me just establish some of the benefits you will get out of automation in general...

      - It allows you to save time by eliminating repetitive tasks

      - Time saved translate to more time for you to do higher value tasks instead of being stuck in mundane & laborious work which may not be worthwhile monetarily (or results-wuse)

      - It helps you simplify complicated workflow. Perhaps a 5 steps process can now be done with only 2 steps - at a click of a button

      - Time is money. How much is your time worth? Think about it. If you can just save 10 minutes of your time a day? How much can you save in a month? And in a year?

How much money will that translate to?

And can you use this time to generate more income?

      - Here's an important one. Automation can help you to eliminate unnecessary mental stress. Instead of fussing though endless mundane work (and wasting brain juice), you now have more time to relax and renew.

Because you let the computer do all the hard grunt work for you, your mind is clearer and fresher for higher value creative work. I can't stress just how important this is.

By eliminating, you can liberate yourself.

So there you go. Some pointers for you to think about...

While at it, let me just shatter 1 myth on automation.

And that is you don't have to have long complicated processes/workflow just to experience the benefit of automation.

Simple short tasks can be automated too. Especially so when they are highly repetitive. When you add them all up, the time/effort savings can still be substantial.

Here are some examples of "small" tasks you can automate to get you started...

      1. Opening up of files/folders/softwares you use often with a single click

      2. Attaching hotkeys to kickstart the automation of a particular job (e.g. pressing Ctr-Alt-F to open up your Firefox browser that set to Google homepage)

      3. Schedule backups of your important files and folders

      4. Keyboard and mouse automation with macro recording to save time spent on repetitive keystrokes/clicks.

Start with these 4. You will be amazed at just how much time you will save.

As you get the hang out of it, you will realize there are a lot more tasks you can automate.

      Go trigger happy with automation!

      Cheers,
      Jag
